Most nights,
When I go to sleep
It's after midnight.
When I open my eyes
It's usually the afternoon.
It sure is quiet up here on the third-floor
And I don't have far to go to reach the studio.
Sometimes I drive around town listening to Sweet Virginia repeatedly -
Because I can.
I hope death is this peaceful.
